About Me

Val Hovland: I live in Boulder, Colorado, where I love my two sons Kavi and Mano, the adventurous people, easy access to the mountains, and all of the sunshine. In addition to exploring Colorado, I've climbed in the Cascades, Tetons, Alps, Andes, Mexico, Alaska, Africa, and made four trips to the Himalaya--all this has led to reaching the summit of Denali in 2009, Ama Dablam in 2004, Kilmanjaro in 2009, Shishapangma (central) in 2005, and the summit of Mt Everest in 2008.
